Wiki Loves Mon­u­ments is a photo con­test organ­ised by Wikipedia across 17 Euro­pean coun­tries in Sep­tem­ber 2011. For a month, you are encour­aged to take, upload and share pic­tures of mon­u­ments (includ­ing build­ings, parks, archae­o­log­i­cal sites, and more) on Wiki­me­dia Com­mons and in Wikipedia arti­cles. All images will be openly licensed and free for re-use on other sites.

At Euro­peana we are pleased to be one of the part­ners of Wiki Loves Mon­u­ments and will be spon­sor­ing one of the 12 Euro­pean prizes for best photo. As you may have noticed we have got a soft spot for Art Nou­veau, so we will also endorse  a spe­cial com­pe­ti­tion and award for the best image of an Art Nou­veau monument.
