Success at Collection Day in Luxembourg
YesÂterÂday we kicked-off our pan EuroÂpean World War 1 famÂily hisÂtory roadÂshow at the National Library of LuxÂemÂbourg. We invited memÂbers of the genÂeral pubÂlic to share their stoÂries, phoÂtographs, postÂcards, letÂters or other items from the time of the First World War. DurÂing the roadÂshow, hisÂtoÂriÂans and experts were availÂable to talk about the sigÂnifÂiÂcance of the finds — while our staff digiÂtised and uploaded them to the website.
Over 70 peoÂple attended the roadÂshow in LuxÂemÂbourg and many conÂtriÂbuÂtions were digiÂtised by our team for incluÂsion in the EuroÂpeana 1914–1918 archive. We would like to thank all of the peoÂple that took the time to share their items and stoÂries from the First World War. We have included some images from the event below, along with dates and locaÂtions for our upcomÂing roadshows.

We are buildÂing the first ever online EuroÂpean archive of priÂvate memÂoÂraÂbilia from WW1 in time for the 100th anniverÂsary of the outÂbreak of war – and we need your help to do this. So please bring your memÂoÂraÂbilia along to an event, or alterÂnaÂtively if you are unable to attend a roadÂshow you can conÂtribute to the archive online at Europeana1914-1918.eu.
